FOOTBALL SEASON OPENS
New Eleven Will Be Ready for
Games by Nov. 6 All Comers
Accepted by Team Lineup
That Alliance will have ono of the
best football eleven in wcwlern Ne
braska seems evident from the pres
ent outlook. The team 1 now being
lined up and expects to be road? fcr
tho first name not later than the
5th of November.
Men who are candidate for the

Schaffcr, Carl Sjmeht, CharRt
Spacht, F. J. Carter, Frank Klaus
en, George Nation, Cecil Smith,
Harold Snyder, Kcwt Hull, Wnrd
Hall, "Cyclone" Trabert, Graham,
might Zediker. Hen Freshley,
Steele, and "Dutch" Ma.tinler.
Some of those men were on the
old team of 190G, '07 and '08. They
played at thnt time, Spacht, center;
Klaussen, guard; Carter, guard; Hull
rulllKuk; Hill, left half.
Men who were on tho Alliance
school eleven are: Spacht, half back;
Schaffer, quarter. I.owry comes
from the Baptist college at Grand la
land, eleven of 1907. This was a
very strong team and phiyed the Al
liance tetun here.
There nro am abundance of line
men in the llsrt of candidates but the
team will be hard up for back field
men. Johnny King nnd Charley Hl'l
will be coaches. Both are experienc
ed men.
The lineup will probably be, ac
cording to thoso who are posted:
back field Nation, Hull, Lowry and
Charley Spacht. Quarterback Hall
and Schaffer. Endst Dwight Zedi
ker and Cecil Smith. Tho line will
average 184 pounds In weight. The
men state that they will go any
place and play any team for railroad
fare and (hotel expenses. There will
probably be fourteen men on the
team.
An application for a game has al
ready been received from the Fort
Robinson team. The following letter
was received from the manager of
that team:'

Alliance, Nebraska.
Dar Sir:
I would like to arrange a game
with your team lo be played in your
town. If you have an open date. I
will be glad to arrange with you. We
can play at any time that you want
the game. Our tenin will average
about 130 lbs. on the line.
