Indications are today tiu within a few day the Burling ton will have handled through Alli ance from fifteen to twenty heavy took trains, montly from the north west. For several days the Burling ton haa been rushing enijrty cattle cam to the loading motions, but the upply has been none too plentiful for the expected, but more than ever udden demand. ' Reports from the cattle country In dicate that a general cleanup of the ranges will be made during this sea son of shipments and that the sell ing will be close, making the traffic heavier than the usual run for sev eral years. 1 August's handlings through Alli ance were heavy. The following were handled to Omaha and Chica go: 638 cars of cattle, 330 of sheep, 24 of horses, four of mules and three of hogs. D. M. Andrews of Alliance has gone to Denver on a business trip. Mr. Andrews recently moved to Alli ance from Chicago and expects to Invest la range land. Recently there has been a great deal of interest aroused in the sub- ect of better graded cattle for dairy farms and the Alliance Creamery company has been making every ef fort to create interest that will re sult in the growth of the dairy busi ness In this section of Nebraska. Carried with the dairy train will be "Katte Gerben," the world's rec ord cow, together with other dairy animals. During the Btop at Alli ance a serlea of lectures will be given which will be of Inestimable benefit to all persons contemplating entering into the dairy Industry on either a large or small scale. It to the belief of The Herald that the dairy business could be develop ed1 to the highest point of profit in this county, particularly as there is an immediate market here for but ter fat and milk.
