rs UNDAY HOES FOR LADIES, ON DISPLAY Alliance Shoe Store Repairing promptly done after Oct. 9th SILOS PRODOCE GOOD QUALITY OF BOOZE The Herald' Efforts to Boom the Bjilding of Silos Will Re ceive Big Boost FREE BUG JUICt FROM SILAGE For several years past Tbe Herald has been advocating the construction of silus in northwestern Nebraska, believing their use would bp a Rood thing for this country, especially for the dairy interest. A discovery has been made that In bound to be a great help to us in boosting the business, and Incidentally may help to reduce the cost of living; f, bring Ins down the high price of nbooze. We learn from an Illinois exchange that a new kind of intoxicating) li quor has been discovered in Mis souri. It Is nothing more or less than the fermented Juice from corn silage. It has been discovered that every alio in Nodaway county is a factory in full blast, producing the primes! sort of liquor, paying no tax and violating no law, even in dry coun ties. The liquor smells very much like bet r and has a taste, it is said, that makes old topers take notice. It Is found at the totloni of the silo in quantities to make a whole neigh horhnod drunk. The drink Is produced by the fer mentation of the silage which mixes with the water used to pack the ODJ it torn ax it is pul in the silo. It. is very much like the ordinal corn whiskey before it is distilled. While it is not expected to become tashionable at city bars it is prefer able to hair dye and lemon extra. I as a thirst quencher in drv comtnon ities. (letting 'he liquor out or the silo is an easy matter.
