the Memory of Mrs. Fannla
G. Parker Strupper
The many friends of Mrs R. T.
Watson will be pleased to note the
following beautiful tribute of a life
long friend, written from Denver.
Colo., and published In the Vinton
Eagle. Vinton. Iowa:

At 4 p. m., May 14. 1J12, the Rlv
eraide crematory. In this city, con
sumed the mortal remains of Mrs,
Fannie G. Parker Strupper, of Alii-,
ance, Nebraska. (
Por twelve long weeks she had i
suffered from Inflamatory rheuuiit-
tiam and although the skill of phy
sicians and the beat care obtainable I
had conquered the disease there was'
not sufficient strength left to enable1
her to rally and "inanition" was glv-i
en as the Immediate cause of death.
Ixng acquaintance with the de
ceased, dating as far back as the
'50's when she became the wife of
Mr. M. W. Parker in her native
state of Massachusetts, I am able,
with many others yet living, to re
call the many good qualities and so-1
clal ties which hound Mrs. Parker's
noble character to a large circle of
friends. It was ever a pleawent itreat
to many, always the best, to visit
her and her happy family at their
welcom couatry home near social
old Vinton.
Almost constantly her three loving
daughters ministered to her every
want, and her graceful appreciation
was a great solace to them during
the last hours of loving mother.
Tears are excusable in parting with
such noble characters whose ac
quaintance hud bound so many to
gether in social love and esteem dur
ing the trial and the pleasantries in
cident to the history of Vinton and
vicinity, and often we are sadly re
mlnded"Oh, how fast the friends are
failing," and also be mindful that
nature has decreed that we must
all, sooner or later, drop before the
Reaper In the grand harvest.
Mrs. Parker was the last of her
faultily to go and is survived In her
81st year by four children. vis:

Jennie P. Watson, Spade, Nebr.;
May P. Watson. Alliance, Nebr.;
George M. Parker, Puyallup, Wash.
And thus the book doses bearing the
history of a noble character In
whose heart the low and groveling
never entered and the pure in heart
Hire swallowed In death and are at
rest.

Beginning June 22d, we
shall give

following conclusions:
(1) The patrons of a store who pay cash for their purchases deserve a discount on the
money they spend. The merchant receives a slight discount from the wholesalers
when HE pays cash, and it is only just that his patrons should in turn receive the
same favor.
(2) It is essentially wrong to give the stamps furnished by a trading stamp company
no matter how highly capitalized it may be. The stamp companies each year
absorb enormous profits which should have gone to the consumer. We have ob
viated this feature of stamps by having engraved OUR OWN TRADING STAMPS which
we ourselves will redeem either for merchandise or for handsome premiums.
So. be ginning on June 224, we shall issue our own trading stamps one with each 10c
purchase. These stamps cost you absolutely nothing but the time spent in pasting them in
your stamp book. We give them freely, gladly, with every cash purchase because we believe
the cash purchaser is entitled to a discount on his payment; and we could not devise a better or
more uniform discounting method than is provided by our trading stamps.
