Mrs. Austin, wife of Engineer
Austin of Seneca, came up Friday
for a few days' visit with friends.
She ia a guest at Engineer John
son's home.
Mrs. Llriie Phillips Warrick 1a In
Alliance at the home of her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. C. E. PhMlipa of West
Lawn. Mr. and Mrs. Warrick have
been living in Idaho. They have
traded I heir Idaho land for Texas
land and will go south In a week
or ten days to make their home.
The B. of H. T. banquet was a
grand success m every particular.
The speeches were all very Interest
ing and Instructive. The cartoons
drawn for the occasion by Mr. John
Adams were very appropriate. The
lunch was heartily enjoyed by all
present.
Machinist and Mrs. George Davis
WU1 leave for Lincoln Friday. Mr.
Davis will visit relatives in Lincoln
and University IMace returning to
Alliance Monday. Mrs. Davis will
attend the (irand Chapter of the
Eastern Star to be held In Fremont
next week. She will visit in Omaha
and Plattaraouth before her return.

Many of the men consider them an
expensive luxury. They feel that
tome new system should be adopted
to cut down the expenHes of settling
differences with the railroads. The
Order of Railway Conductors of Den
ver have also started a movement
to reduce t he salaries of their grand
lodge officers. These matters will
all be brought before the next na
tional conventiou.
