The Iktvleta Ranch Com pany is probnbly one of the heaviest local losers, but owing to the faith ful efforts of Mr. Israel, the manag er, and all hands on the ranch, they succeeded In saving all but about one hundred head of young pigs and shoats. from a number of some twelve hundred head, including about two hundred fifty head of young pigs. The snow whipped under the hog sheds at such a rate that It filled them in less than three hours. About 250 young pigs were carried and sheltered during the night in the Davlsta Ranch bunk house and oth er living quarters. u. h. wormwood, who was re turning to his range near Lusk with his band of about 4.000 sheep from the Putney place where he has been wintering, was caught by the storm about five miles north of Ltngle along the government canal. The sheep were in two bandB, one on the upper and west side of the can al, and the other at the time the storm struck were In the bed of the dry canal. The band on the up per side of the canal drifted and piled against the right of way fence of the government and were buried together with the fence, completely under the snow. The band on the Inside of the canal huddled and sulked and the herders were unable to move them, and the snow drifted over them from two to ten feet deep. A force of fifteen 'to twenty five men worked Sunday and Mon day and half of Sunday night dig ging sheep from the snow. Some of these men have been on the Job constantly, with only a few short hours rest during the night. The government camp at the Rawhide station turned out and worked in full forte Monday with the rescue party. From present developments It Is estimated that Mr Wr-mwood will lose half of his band. Cox. pastor or the Con gregational church at thlR place, of ficiating. The wedding party marched Into the parlor amid the sweet strains of the wedding march played by Miss Ruth Taylor. They were pre ceded by Mr. Ira Leavitt, the bride's brother, as best man, and Miss Lena llomrlghausen. sister of the groom, as bridesmaid. The bride was attired In a very becoming white silk dress, while the groom wore a neat suit of blue black serge. It was strictly a home affair, only the parents of the con tracting parties being present. Following the marriage ceremony a delicious wedding dinner wns served In honor of the newly wed ded pair. Needless to say that some of us feel that these quiet weddings are somewhat disappointing to the crowd though delightful to the contracting parties, especially when they are so well known in the community. They have been friends since child hood, having grown up together In the same neighborhood. The bride has been a teacher In the rural schoolB, which position she handled in a very creditable manner and It is needless to aay that she will make an ideal wife. The groom Is an Industrious young man of good habits and Is well and favorably known In this part of the county where his connection with the Lawn baseball team has won him many friends. With the best wishes of their many friends, this newly married pair will take up their residence 13 miles west of Hemingford. tVILLIAIVI MITCHELL, TTORNIY AT LW. oooooooooooooooo o MOUNT PLEA8ANT o oooooooooooooooo Mr. and Mrs. Lee Marsh have moved on the Frank Reddish place for the year.
