to have 7 months school beginning

Mrs. Jennie Broshar Is enjoying a

Mrs. Mary I. Jones, mother of our
esteemed fellow-cttlzen, Geo. P.
Jones, sustained a serious Injury by
being thrown from a buggy in which
she was riding. The horse which
she was driving shied at an auto
and became unmanageable, overturn
ing the buggy.
The Curly ball team have received
their new uniforms and are now
ready to meet any amateur team in
this vicinity. They played a game
Sunday with the Whistle Creek
team, the score standing 16 to 3 in
favor of Curly.
The semi-annual election of offi
cers of the Curly Union Sunday
school was held last Sunday and are
as follows: Superintendent, M. L.
Whltaker; Assistant, S. L. Wagner;'
Secretary, Mrs. A. E. Hann; As
sistant. Mrs. E. L. Hawkins; Treas
urer, Mrs. C. H. Henderson; Librar
ian, Miss Esther Boyer.
C. H. Henderson has returned
from Alliance where he has been re
ceiving medical treatment and is
greatly benefitted, a fact we are
8 pleased to know.
A little daughter was born to Mr
and Mrs. J. P. McCart on Sunday,
June 25. Mother and child are do
ing well, but as for Frank- well! we
are not so sure.
MARSLAND MUSINGS

Everything looks good since the
rain. An Inch and a quarter fell In
this part of the country.
Mrs. Owen, from Omaha. Is visit
ing with Mrs. Bobbins.
Mr. BaccuB and daughter, Anna,
were Sunday visitors at Casaius Farley's.
Mrs. Allen Jamison has the pleas
ure of entertaining her mother, Mrs.
De Harpart of Agra, Oklahoma.
A. Bjorndahl has finished the Btore
building at Beno and is at home for
a few clays.
Mrs. Albert Bobinson of Alliance
spent a few days last week with her
mother, Mrs. Farley.
We had a very Interesting Sunday
school last Sunday, over forty being
In attendance, with six scholars In
the young people's class. We want
at least to double this class In the
coming year, and especially Invite
all the young people tht caan possi
bly come to do so.
We have changed the time for
holding the Sunday school to half
past two In the afternoon, and
preaching services at half past three.
This has been done In order that
some may come that could not get
there In the morning. We especially
Invite all to come.
Miss Nettle Beck has gone to
Colorado to visit relatives.
Howard Beck and family are going
fib spend a few days with Mrs. Beck's
parents In the eastern part of the
state.
Quaker Valley will celebrate on
the Fourth at the school house.
Children's exercises will begin at 11
o'clock, a. m. James Jamison will
deliver the address, after which a
picnic dinner will be served. Every
body invited. Come and bring your
basket and let us have a social time
together.

Grandma Hashman Is on the sick

A sewing machine agent called at
several homes here last week.
Mr. Cal Hashman cut his alfalfa
and had a good crop for the first
cutting.
James Skinner made a business
trip up to Mr. Duskln's last Wed
nesday afternoon.

of hay to Hemlngford last Friday.
Mildred Nichols spent last Thurs
