Uproar in Canada.
Winnipeg, Man., June 26. A parallel
drawn between Financ Minister Field
Ing and President Talt on the one
hand :ind Samson and Lelllnh on the
other, by J, O. M. Bergeron of Quebec,
who ih accompanying It. L. Borden,
leader of the Conservative party. In a
whirlwind tour of the west against
reciprocity, Mas caused an uproar
among the settlers from the United
States.
Bergeron, who may become a min
ister if Borden retains power in the
Dominion, In making his comparison,
alleged that Mr. Fielding had suc
cumbed to the blandishments and
wiles of 'Mrs. Taft," who had blinked
at him from the White House.
At Medicine Hat, Alberta, Mr. Ber
geron denied that he had been dis
courteous to "Mrs. Taft," or any other
Indies He admitted that he had
spoken of Fielding and the president
in comparison with Samson and
Delilah.

Charged With Stealing Stores.
New York, June 26. A wireless
message received here from the trans
port Kilpatrick, en route from Galves
ton to this port, gave the information
that the vessel had been looted of gov
ernment property by members of the
crew. This was followed by another
message, stating that five stewards
were put under arrest and placed in
the boat's brig.
Upon this Information Assistant
United States Attorney Gruber ob
tained warrants for the arrest of the
VSSBSeta and on the arrival of the Kil
patrick the stewards were taken Into
custody.
