CORRESPONDENCE HEM I NGFORD up from Mli TT has made the X returned fTOffl in the eastern that than STERLING BOYS' TEAM HERE SATURDAY NIGHT The receipts office, for the 31, 1910, were P. W. Lester BOBS. Mrs Mike Shay list As announced In Tilt week, Peter Hogan of ment land office force. Washington, where he of the Alliance post quarter ending Dec It.l'TO.TL'. is in Omaha on bust Is on the sick Herald last the govern- hiis gone to was promot place in the govern The Alliance High school boys' team will play the first basketball game of the season on the High school gymnasium floor, Saturday ev ening. Their opponents will be the fast Sterling High school team. Sterling Is said to have fully us fast a team this year as last. Last year they captured the championship of northern Colorado. They come with a few victories won this year. Alll- unce supporters are not worried that Sterling will prove a worthy oppon ent, but on the other hand are some what inclined to credit them with too much ability for the good of the local team. The Alliance team this year will he composed of players who have bad little or no experience In the tame. All of last year's team have graduated but the new players are showing exceptional ability. While none of the Alliance players are very large, they expect to make up for this by speedy and heady play ing. In all probability the forward positions will be held down by Nol au and Schuffer. The center posi tion will probably be played by Hoot, while Keegan, Cruham and Thomas will be depended on to keep the Sterling team from scoring. This is the first game of the sea son, and the question which the High school students are asking each oth er Is, "Will our basketball team this year prove a worthy successor to the teams of the last two years?" In the last two years Alliance has been credited with only three de feats, and only once has the defeat been administered by a High school team. Come out and cheer the boys on to victory. The support of an enthusiastic crowd means as much as unything else. Season tickets may be obtained at Thlele's or Hoi wten's. or at the door. Mrs. Prank K.
