We wish to commend the merchants
of Alliance who are inaugurating a co
operative delivery svstem, by means of
which a large amount of work and ex
pense can be saved. This should mean
a benefit to customers as well as to
ii. m chants. Under the present svstem
of every store having its own delivery
wagons, two or more trips are often
made to differentparts ofthecitv, when
line trip would do for all, if worked un
der I co-operative svstem.
The merchants are advertising for
bids and propositions to operate the
system, as will be seen bv reference to

Makes Record Run With Ford
Arthur Powell, son of Clarence
Powell, living near Alliance, made a
record run last week from Central City
to Angora through the range of sand
hills. He made the trip in one of the
late model "T" Ford autos and covered
the ground in eighteen hours running
time, through a great deal of snow and
water. This is a record both in time
and for the territory covered. Mr.
Powell stated that be passed some
heavy touring cars mired in the sand,
of much higher power than his Ford.

The Britton-Parker sale on Tuesday
of last week passed off very satisfactor
ly to Messrs. C. II Hritton and G- M
Farker, things selling hetter than had
been expected. They give much credit
to Auctioneer J. P. Coursey for the
able manner in which he conducted the
sale. Everything advertised was sold in
a huny, at better figures than had been
anticipated, and the sale did not drag
out as public sales sometimes do
Mr. Britton returned from his visit to
Michigan a few davs betore the sale,
and now that be and Mr Parker have
their Uox Butte countv business in
shape to leave, they start today (Thurs
dav for their new home at Puyallup,
Washington, today. We regret to lose
these gentlemen from our county, but
since they have headed for the netting
sun, we wish them well in their far a
way home.
