shipped out of Lewellen last week. It

A movement has been started at
Broken Bow toward building a new
court house lor Custer county to take

was caused by an explosion of coal gas

in his last issue that he is building an
addition to his residence iu order to
have room large enough to bathe his
feet and have sewer connection. Bus
iness must be good.
The city of Osbkosh, on the Platte,
is booming. A new electric light and
power plaut is to be installed and
in working order in the next sixty days
The plant will be in operation both day
and night and the 60 kilowatt, no volt
dynamo will be run bv a 35 horsepower
gasoline engine.

have a two-page dispiav advertisement
in the Custer County Chief of last week
and the Daylight Department Store, B.
K Bushee, Proprietor, of Kimball, has
a two page ad in the Kimball Observer.
It pays these merchants and many
other merchants could profit by their
example.
About four hundred officers and men
of the 8th Cavalry left Fort Robinson
last Sunday for a trip of 8,000 miles
to the island of Luzon, Philippine
Islands, where they will be on dutv for
two yeais. The regiment will sail on
December 5th 011 the government trans
port Logan. The trip will take about
a mouth. Two squadrons of the 1 2th
cavalry will arrive in March and be
stationed at the Fort.
