Royce Nichols, who has been work
ing at Mr. Lawrence's a few weeks, is
at home again.
Mr. and Mrs. N. G. Leishman were
out auto riding and called on Mr. and
Mrs. Jas. Skinner.
Roll In Ross was in this neighborhood
a few days last week but haB returned
to Sioux county again.
Ethel and Fay Uembry spent Satur
day evening and Sunday forenoon with
their aunt, Mrs. M. Leishman.
Fred Turner was out setting up a
couple of broken posts on the phone
line one day last week.
John Kendcll, who has teen working
the Skinner farm, Is working at A. J.
Qughagen's for a few weeks.
A. Leishman finished painting N. G.
Lcishman's new house and has returned
to his home in the sand hills.
Mr. Godfrey called at Mr. Skinner's
last Tuesday and took his team of mules
uome which he has been pasturing In
Mr. Skinner's pasture.
Ira Johnson made a trip to Alliance
one day last week to take home a large
supply tank but on tho way home his
horses became frightened at an auto
and ran away throwing the tank from
the wagon and doing considerable
damage to It.
Mrs. F. Clark and son Harry left Alli
ance on 44 Sunday for their home in
Billings, Montana. They have spent
about five weeks visiting friends and
relatives in and near Alliance. Her
father and mother live on a farm eleven
miles and her sister four miles north
west of Alliance.

The box supper at Wlckier school
house was well attended. A fine pro
gram was prepared by Miss Huston.
Their reward for the supper was 823.
Mrs. Heck passed throngh Hubblo's
Flat on her way to Canton Saturday to
preach Sunday. She was accompanied
to Canton by John Chapman and wife
and Mr. and Mrs. Deam.
Don Overman is about to start a large
show in a tent at Scotts Bluff. , Don
has decided not to run a restaurant,
thinks n show more profitable. He
would like all of his friends to come.

picture on the Professor's telescope.
Nearly all the men of Nine Mile took
their families to Scotts Bluff, Friday,
to attend the M.W. A. Rally. It was de
signed to make a big day of it for visit-1

E. A. McFall made a trip to Alliance
one day last week.

Miss Beulah Smith is visiting with

Henry Hier hauled dipping oil from
Alliance the first of the week.
Mrs. Bessie Gregg of Alliance visited
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Strong,
last week.
Bennlc Keeler of Alliance is visiting
at the Hier ranch and helping dip cat
tle this week.
Miss Lula Nelson returned to Alli
ance last week where she is employed
by Mrs. J. A Mallery.
Everyone seems to bo enjoying their
new phones out this way. The only
trouble Is that they all want to talk at
once.

of Alliance visited with the Warn
baugh's last Sunday.
We understand there is to be a dance
in the hay mow of the new livery sta
ble at Lakeside Friday or Saturday
night. Everyone is invited.
Henry Hier went to Alliance Sunday
on business. His sister-in-law and son
who have been visiting for the past
week returned home with him,
This seems to be a bad year for cut
worms and potato bugs. Everyone is
complaining of them as they are eat
ing up the gardens and potatoes as
fast as they come up.
