A Reception On last Monday evening about eighty young pcoplo responded to invitations from Mr. and Mrs. S. K Warrick to enjoy the hospitality of their homo and meet their guests from abroad, Misses Elizabeth and Ruth Warrick of Mead ov Grove, Ncbr., the Misses Lotnax and Sullivan of Broken Bow and Miss Lottie Lee Cornettc, of Elk Crook, Virginia. In the, receiving line were Mr. and Mrs. S. K. Warrick, Mrs. C. C Smith, .Mrs. W. W. Johnson and Mr. aud Mrs. L. C. Thomas. A program of music and readings was rendered, each number being par excellence. Especially was the violin duet by Camillc Nohe and Fred Funk of special mention. After the program the evening was spent in amusements of different kinds, one of the mirth provoking features being the presentation, about ten o'clock, of cards bearing a given and family name, the families then being expected to assemble themselves for refreshments. Following were some of the families represented: Dr. Fill, Mrs. Pill, 111 Pill, Bill Pill, Kill Pill. Pinky Pill, etc. There were also the Silent family, Simple family, Gawk family., etc. , The entire evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all present and will long be remembered as one of the plcasantcst of their lives. Preparing to Handle New Crop As the time to harvest the new pota to ei up draws near, preparations aro being made to handlo tho same. Deal Bros., the wholesale produce and fruit commission firm who temporarily clos cd their office during tho summer, have leased the Coors building at the south cast corner of Box Butte avenuo and Dakota street and will open up thoir office in it this week. Thoy will rent tlie upstairs rooms, and will use the ground floor and basement for storage, their office to be in tho front of the ground floor. Sunday-School Picnic Tomorrow is the day set for tho M. E. Sunday-school picnic, and Atz grove, a mile and a half north of town, tho placo. All members of tho Sunday school as well as tho parents aro in vited to attend. Supt. Warrick aud his assistants arc making ample pre parations for the comfort and conven ience of those who attend, and a good time is anticipated. Members of the Sunday-school and their parents will meet at the church at io a.m. aud will be conveyed to tho picnic grounds in automobiles.
