AGED MAN DROWNED IN WELL

Hnim Chrlstonsen, aged nbout seronty
years, was found at tho bottom of u
sixty-foot well on hjs pronribcs. Mr.
Chrlsteiiben lived nlono, being a retired
farmer, and had cleaned out his well
boforo this by means pf n rope lad
der, which was found hanging In tho
well. He had been missed by his
neighbors since May 30, but wna sup
posed to hnvo gone to visit IiIb son, J.
C. OhrlHtonsen, who Js a merchant at
Oruni, in tho western part of this
county. His face was badly brulsod
and the body badly decomposed.

was the result of the biting of two or

he felt like It, that tho squirrels In

nold saw a man's coat hanging to tho
railroad bridge just north of tho vll
lago limits and' found tho body of a
man hanging by one arm to tho wlro
fenco and lying against the bridge.
Ho had evidently fallen off a passing
train during tho night and his head
had struck tho bridge, crushing tho
skull. Coroner Penrco took charge of
tho remains and found $1 In money
and a memorandum book on his per
son, showing that he was from Mich
igan. One Item In this book was:
"In caso of Borlous Injury, my name Is
P. J. Griffith. Please notify Mrs.
James Griffith, Lansing, Mich."
