of Ellsworth, Ncbr., were united in
marriage by Rev. Dr. Boguc. There

The happy pair left on the early
train this morning for North Dakota
where they will visit for a while before
proceeding to Saskatchewan, Canada,
where the groom owns a farm and
where they will make their home.
The Herald joins their friends in
congratulations and best wishes for
happiness and prosperity.

Another Horrible Accident
VAN VLECK-KOCKEY.
Lewis F. Van Vleck of Rushvillc and
Miss Albertina Rockey were joined in
the bonds (hat unite until death do
part, at the residence of the bride's
parents, 208 East Oregon street,
Alliance, last evening, in the presence
of a large company of invited guests.
The official part of the program was
performed by Rev. J, L. Vallow. after
which refreshments were served and
everything was "merry as a marriage
bell." The bride is well known in Al
liance and is most highly esteemed by
her acquaintances. The groom was at
oue time clerk at the Hotel Drake and
he also has a' large circle of friends and
acquaintances here. They leave today
for Rushvillc where they will make
their home, to which a multitude of
good wishes follow them.
Before leaving on No. 43 this after
noon the newly-married man remem
bered The Herald with a call long
enough to tender cigars and receive
congratulations.

Work is being pushed on the re
modeling of the large room formerly
occupied by the Younkin restaurant, at
113 Box Butte avenue, and before next
Monday evening, the time set for the
first performance, it will be well ar
ranged and equipped for vaudeville and
moving picture show. Tho outfit will
be new and up-to-date, which means a

yesterday morning pulled out of the
Alliance yards at eight a'clock in charge
of Conductor Gaddis, no, one thought
that within a few hours one of the
train crew would meet with an accident
causing his instant death. It is im
possible at this writing to ascertain the
exact facts in the case, but aB nearly

being done at Ellsworth when Brake
man Floyd E Watson, the victim of
the accident, was caught by the engine
attached to two cars and run over, re
sulting in his instant death- News of
the accident was immediately wired to
Alliance. Tho remains arrived on No.
43 and were taken in charge by Under
taker Darling.
The deceased resided in West Lawn
with his father, Francis M. Watson,
and three brothers, Elijah, George and
Lucian. Ho was a faithful employe of
the Burlington, was well liked by his
associates by whom his demise will be
sincerely mourned as well ns by his
relatives.
Funeral will be tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.
from his late residence in West Lawn,
and will be in charge of the I. O. O. F
of which he was a member.
S. Williams, road master of the east
division, has removed from Seneca to
Alliance. He has been one of The
Herald's constant readers for a num-
I ber of years, and we are pleased to
welcome, him and Jbi family to our
city.
R. R. Ralls, who has resided in this
county for tweuty-four years, having
come to Box Butto county in April,
1885, leaves today for Iowa, where he
will spend the spring and summer, on
the advice of his physician, who thinks
a lowor altitude for a few months will
improve his health. He expects to re-
