A. W. Pierson returned to Alliance
Tuesday morning after an extended
visit with homo folks. He reports
a good time and we can vouch for that.
He left his mother recovering from a
siege of pneumonia and at the time of
his departure she was getting along
nicely. Al is at the present time a
man of leisure, having tendered his
resignation to the International Har
vester Co., and is open for engage
ments; now is the time girls.
The Crystal has just added a new
special Compensare Rheostat at a cost
of seventy-five dollars to their moving
picture outfit. This is a great im
provement over the rheostat ordinarily
used and allows them to give the pic
tures just the right illumination, Aa
it is placed inside of the fireproof box
in which the machine is placed, it
gives greater safety.
The Editor of The Herald is on a
business trip to Omaha this week, and
will make a run up to Norfolk to at
tend the meeting of the Nebraska State
Association of Commercial Clubs an
delegate of the Alliance Commercial
Club. He expects to purchase addi
tional machinery while in Omaha to
add to the equipment of The Herald
office. .
As' will be seen by the ad of the
Bennett Company in today's issue of
The Herald, this firm expects to give, a
grand opening of their new piano store
in the Rumer building next to James
Grahom's grocery store, ou Saturday,
March 20th. A fine new Chickering
grand has just been placed on their
floor. This is the first grand piano in
Alliance and as they say that "nothing
is too good for Alliance" we will prob
ably see more. Thev have a very" com
plete line and expect to keep a stock of
from thirty to fifty pianos in Alliance
all the time.

stopped off at Alliance last Thursday

have received a carload of paint. This
is something new for Alliance and
shows that they have confidence in Al
liance. Cy Laiug has returned from his visit
to Omaha.

Members of the Epwortli League
and their friends were entertained at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. I. E. Tash
last evening. The house was tastefully
decorated in green to suit the occasion.
Games and music were diversions of
the evening after which an elaborate
lunch was served. Rev. Vallow gave
an interesting address ou the legend of
St. Patrick. The evening was a source
of enjoyment to all present.
