The Hemingford boys cntjrtaincd their Marple friends to dinner and the best of feeling prevailed. The game of ball played hero Sunday between Fairview, an aggregation of play esr from north of Alliance, and Nonpareil broke in a row and was awarded lo Non pareil 9 to o on account of the refusal of Fairview to continue the game. The Canton Telephone Co., will begin work on their line within thirty days and expect to be connected with town before long. They will build a line of their own as far as Rensvold's or thereabouts and for the remainder of the distance have leased the right to put an additional wire on the poles belonging"lo theouFhwest telephone company otherwise know as the Paul-Jensen line. Mrs. John Hickey was down from tho ranch Friday to meet her sister frcm Gret na, Neb., who arrived on 41, and who will visit indefinitely at tho Hickcy home. Mrs. David Hunsaker whoso health hai been very poor for some months, and who had a serious attack of pain from gall stones last week isagain able to bo around. Ten cars were in the ditch near Doolcy Sunday and the road was lined with sigh seers in conscqusncc. Trains were held at this place till in number, tho depot grounds had the appearance of a joung Chicago. James Sullenberger arrived Wednesday morning from Laramie City, Wyo., where ho has been for somo months in tho cm ploy of the U, P. railroad. Mrs. Broshar will accompany him. Mr. Gillispio of Sc. Joseph, a commis sion man, was in these parts this wed locking around to see how many cattle will be shipped to that point this fall. Wo have received from the Burling ton passenger department a valuable leaflet describing the four groat irriga tion schemes now actually under way by the government, in tho regions trib utary to the Burlington route. Tho North Platto ptoject covers 200,000 acres of land in tho North Platte valley. The Shoshone project covers an oqual area in the Big Horn Basin ad jacent to the Builington's Cody line. The Crow reservation covors half a. million acres, when that reservation is opened in 1906 or 1907. The Bello l'ourche project covers a large terri tory north of tho Black Hills.
