Potato harvest is on now and is the

Mr. Allcot, lady and little son from
their ranch in Sioux county, known as
Kound Top ranch, were visitors over night
at the homo of Mr. and Mrs. liroshar on
the 19th inst. While hero they purchased
a wagon load of potatoes of John Moravek.
F. O. B. Fosket passed through this
vicinity a few days ago with a good load of
posts he will use to fence his new ranch
on upper Snake creek.
Fmmet Johnston now drives a new
wagon purchased of B. li. Johnston of
Hemingford.
Joe Winton was trying his new potato
digger on Doc. Randall's ranch Monday.
The hum of the threshing machine is
heard in the land, with Helmer Hensvold
prdprietor, Sherman Wright general man
ager, and Adolph Nicont foreman.
llev. Jeffers was out from Alliance and
held services at the church three evenings.
The Haptist church in Canton has had a
general overhauling ny way of two "coats of
plaster, done by W. Johnson," and hns
been nicely papered by C. W. Lock wood
and assistants.
Mrs. W, II. Hood was out from Alliance
a few" days ago, on her homestead, and was
accompanied by a couple of lady friends
from Omaha who were looking up land,
