I. U. Hagar returned Tuesday from
Mystic, S. D., where ho lias been over

of the Little Ruth propcity in which a
number of Alliance citizens are interest
ed. Mr. Hagar is very enthusiastic
over the piospects of the piopeity.
Leonard Sampy drove down from his
ranch south ot Hemingford Tuesday
with a load of broinos grass seed which
he sold to several stockmen of this
vicinity. Mr. Sampy raised over 6,000
pounds of seed this year from 28 acies.
It is clean and f ice from other grain
and being homegrown is pieferabie foi
this section. Notwithstanding that Mr.
Sampy is in his G2d year ho is as hale
and hem ty as the average man at 50
and besides caiing for his cattle, nuiii
beiingover 100 head, his crops this
year, raised without hired help, are

who say fanning doesn't pay in Hox
Hutte. It has been just foity years
since Mr. Sampy left the "atild sod"
and he contemplates a tiip back theie

The daily papers of Thursday state
that there is a possibility of Hox Hutte
county receiving some of the waters
from the government ditch which is
causing to much excitement in Scotts
Hluff county. Should Hox Hutte lie
benefitted it would be in the exttcme
southwest portion of the count.

Under the survey of the government
ditch in the Platte valley homostuads
am being taken up rapidly. These
lands promise to become very saluablc.
Upwards of twenty Alliance citizens
have made filings this week. We have
a few choice numbers left hut they
