handicapped next year If they do not
fully complete this yea r's work. Much

Who's a Liar?
SeottsblutT fieralcl.
The new N. W. & W. time table de
clares in bold, black-face type that the
west bound trains will arrive at this station
at 6:15 p. m., but Monday's train was over
two hours behind the schedule time. A
Burlington time table with the road under
the management of Jim Hill becomes a
most horrible liar.
'Stand Up for Nebraska."
Haynrd Transcript.
Last week we made a roar regarding the
inefficiency o mail service for the mail
service for the North Platte Valley and
her people. And now a radical change
has been made in the running time on the
Burlington of all trains which, as we under
stand it, will leave our people worse
stranded than ever so far as mails are con
cerned. Mail over the Alliance-Denver
line will not reach Bridgport in the morn
ing until the stage for Mitchell has left and
of course we can get no mail from Omaha
or the east. This will bring all the im
portant mails up the valley each other day
or three times a week. Are we living in
Nebraska or China?
The Stecn Cafe Changes Hands.
A change in the management of the
Steen Cafe took place Monday morning,
Mr. Steen retiring and Mrs. U. N. Hos
kins assuming control. Under the cou
trol of 'Mr. and Mrs. Stecn the restaurant
enjoyed the reputation of being one of the
best arranged and most hospitable inns on
the line of the B. & M. Mrs. Hoskins is
an experienced lady and will no doubt con
tinue in the same line as her predecessor
in keeping this place up to the high stand
ard it has attained.
