Green and K. L. Pierce returned to Oinuha Tuesday to remain until the grand jury Is dismissed. Mrs. Evans was quite ill last week and Was obliged to take a week's vaca tion Irom her school work. Marshal Sheldon returned last Frl ilnj after an absence of several mouths and will remain a few weeks. Mrs. Ford aud children returned to town Sunday, having spoilt their vaca tion at tho ranch near Lawn. Mrs. Curtis returned Monday to her home in Canton, having spout the week with her friends in town. School began last Monday with a good attendance, both touchers and pupils rested after the vacation. John Sainpy and wife of Hillings came down last week to make Mr. and Mrs. Sanipy of Nonpareil a two weeks' visit. Death for the second time entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Klusella last Saturday, claiming as its own their baby boy, aged nine months. It Is rare that parents are called upon to bear bo much trouble as has this young father and mother Perhaps it would have been unbearable had they not both been true christians and securo in tho hope of again meeting their loved ones iu that land whore partings are unknown. David Miller and wife of Alliance are spruiling the week with Mrs. Mil ler's mother, Mrs. Nellie Heath. Mr. aud Mrs. J. R. Lynder of Iowa are spending the holidays visiting with Mrs. Lynder's father, John Hays, aud other relatives. Mr. Lynder is very favorably impressed with tho country and contemplates buying a farm here containing one section or more of land. Wo hope ho may succeed in securing a desirable location. The Christmas entertainment which was previously announced to be held at tho West school houso in the after noon of the Siith was well attended.
