Tho many friends of Mrs. G. W,
Hatch, will regrot to hear that iho
died of Bright's dlbeasu at Hill City, S.
D., Tuesday evening, shortly before six
o'clock. Mrs. Hatch has lived sevcrtd
years on a ranch north of hero on the
Niobrara river. Shu leaves a husband
and on? daughter. Mr. Hatch and
daughter went up to Hill city on tho
passenger Wednesday. Interment will
take place in Hill City. The IIkimld
extends sympathy to tho bereaved ones.

in this vicinity Monday gathering up
his cattle which tho Bass brothers had
been keeping for him. Bofore leaving
he sold four head of calves to Mrs.
Bass and five head of older cattle to

The singing at J. W. Broshar's Sun
day was out of sight. Among those
present was B, C. Curtis, tho great so
prano singer and violinist of Slonx
county, who entertained tho company
for some timo with vocal and instru
mental music. Also, Miss BeEslo Shet
ler gave tho company some good tenor
solos.
It makes us feel sad io have to chron
icle another accident to Miss Mary
Clayton. Tuesday morning after start
ing for her school her horse becamo
excited, ran away, threw her off and
sprained her wrist- and bruised her
otherwise qulto severely, Tho horse
ran a few rods further, stepped into a
hole and fell and killed itself. This is
the third timo such an accident has
happened to Mary and she now affirms
mat wanting is good and is not all
taken up.
From somo cause unknown to us our
items have, failed to come out in the
IIkkali) for a few weeks past. We
don't think it is oir fault, as we have
startud them in good time. (Week be
fore 1 as! in only timo recently we have
fulled to publish every correspondence
that iwitne in. That week all of them
wero crowded over to the next week
by an unforseen pressure of other mat

and have made many friends who are

Miss Mae Heath closed a successful
terra ul school in the Clark district
last Frlcuvy. She commenced teaching
the following Monday morning in dis
trict No. 10.
C. C. Ruggles left last Friday for the
eastern part of the state where he will
canvass for the Globe cabinet.
Messrs. Judson and A. S. Gerdes de
livered a flno bunch of cattle at All l-
ance Monday.
Mrs. A. a. Gerdes has just received
five full-blood chickens of the rose
comb leghorn breed. Mrs. Gerdes has
a fine flock of these chickens.
