In 53 counties from which State Superintendent Mntzen lias received reports, the total net shortage of teachers October 1, was 111 as. com pared with 478 for the entire state at the time bf the last reports under date of September 12. Herman Harris suffered ugly wounds on the left arm and on the leg when a shotguu exploded In his band while hunting south of Hants,. Apple trees loaded with blossoms on October 1, despite several frosts In September, Is a natural freak noted on the ranch of John l'le.ssell, north of O'Neill.
