Grading Cggs I'njs Grading and co-operative markct ng of eggs are making money for 'armers in several Nebraska counties. Six cents a dozen or a total of $885 ,vere saved the farmers of Hamilton 'ounty during April and May. The county agricultural agent and farm tureau assisted in collecting the ggs at a central point and there grading, packing and shipping them. The eggs were graded for size, shape iveight, color and freshness. Many jroduce dealers are paying a pre nium for the better eggs, and grad ng not only means more money for ho farmers but it increases interest n the production and marketing of a better product. Otoe, Seward and overal other counties hove either es ablishcd or are planning to estab ish co-operative grading and market ng systems. The State College .of Agriculture is encouraging improved narketing, and county agricultural igents and extension workers are ilding in getting the work estab ished. In fact the work of the col ego has already attracted attention n other states. The Illinois Acgri :ultural Association recently asked for information regarding Nebraska methods.
