M. M. Warner, who has been sick for
the past two months, is in a very
serious condition. A specialist was
called up fiom Omahu to consult
with Dr. Barr this morning and Miss
Anna Miller, a trained nurse, is eat
ing for her. Her sister, Mrs. Flor

Prof. Jacobson cordially invited the
leachers of the high school to spend
the evening at his home on Monday,
January 31, that date being the an
niversary of the birth of Mrs. Jacob
son. But as the professor has many
things to thitik about, he forgot the
invitation. Not so the teachers,
who immediately saw the humor of
the occasion and, after making a
goodly supply of iiolicious candy, pro
ceeded to the Jacobson home. Im
agine the sui prise of these worthy
people when their guests arrived.
But they were equal to the occasion
and entertained their company in a
, royal manner and their guests, de
parting at a late hour, declared the

Sioux City Tribune, 3: The mar
riage of Miss Josephine de Hornc,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. de
Home, 1245 Wilder avenue, Honolulu,
Hawaii, and Thomas S. Jones, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Jones of Hub
bard, Neb., was an event of Wednes
day morning in Honolulu. .. .Word
that Douglas Jeffries and Walter
Tuttle, both about 17 years old, liv
ing tit Allen, Neb., had robbed Jef
fries' grandmother of SCO and were
headed toward South Sioux City, was
received by Maor J. L. Phillips, of
South Sioux, about f o'clo.ck yester
day afternoon. Mayor Phillips im
mediately notified Joe Klosler, chinf
of police at South Sioux, who waited
until the. freight train due at 5:30
o'clock, pulled in when the two boys
were nabbed. The culprits were
taken to the city jail and upon bei -g
questioned, it is said, admitted thiir
guilt. They probably wijl bo sent
back to Allen and sentenced to the
reform school.
