Isaac Cooley, who enlisted from Da kota City at the beginning of the late war, arrived home last Friday from tho Philippines, where ho had been stationed for the pa3t three years. He received his disi-hnrge from the regular army, but espects to go to Ft. Crook, Neb., and re enlist. He likes army life, nn.l has made a good soldier. An auto carrying James Edgell, Julian Reddick and Herman Frazee, all of Lyons, Neb., bumped into the Ponca train at the crossintr near the Geo. W. Bates place last Wednesday afternoon. The car was demolished, and the engine pulling the train was put out of c ommission for several hours, or until it could be repaired. The three men ccaped with a few scratches and bruises.
