A largo on wd was present at the Methodist church on Sundoy evening' to hear Judgn R. E. Evans of Dakota City. Judge Evans is congressman from the Third con gressional district of Nebraska, and his actual contact with the questions of the day at the National capital made his .powerful address on "Sov iet Russia" all the more interesting. The dangers of this radical state of affairs wore pointed out in a search ing manner, and no doubt was ieft in the minds of the audience as to the congressman's attitude toward the red peril that is seeking to wind its tendrils about the foundation of ev ery great government on the globe. The address was well received and provided much food for thought. The Judge arrived in Ponca Saturday ev ening, ldaving for Dakota City Mon day on the afternoon train. V..W FAILURE CLAIMS mrs. ALiir.itT j. pi.ti:rson iced, tit her home near Valentine, Nebraska, July 28; 1020, Mrs. Rose Rockwell Peterson, of heart lailuie. The deceased was born in DoKnlb county, Indiana, the .-list day of De cember, 18G1, and came to Dakota county, 'Nebraska, with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John D. Rockwell, in 1869, and resided here until lt15, when .the family moved lo Valentine, where they have since resided. Rose Rockwell was 'married to Al bert J: Peterson in 1879. To them were born eight children, two of whom preceded her in death. With the husband and father, the following children survive: Mrs. f). E. Shook, Mrs. Ed Buechelle, Mrs. Charley Rinehart, Walter L. Peter son and Clifford J. Peterson, of Val ontine, Neb., and Mrs. Emil Young, of Hubbard, Neb. There are twenty nine grandchildren besides the im mediate family, left to mourn the nine grandchildren surviving. Be sides the immediate farmilv left to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Peterson is survived by one sister, Mrs. Alice Walters, of Sioux City; and two brothers, S. -M. Rockwell, of Wood Lake, Neb., and J. P. Rockwell, of Dakota City, Neb. Funeral services were conducted on Friday afternoon from the Meth odist church in Valentine, oy the pastor, and the remains were laid to rest in the Valentine cemetery. In the death of Mrs. PetTbon, Da kota county loses one of its early pi oneer residents, and the caved family and friends a devoted compan ion and associate. A meeting of this commit tco revealed that all woro in favor of accepting tho ofTcr, which they con sidered an uiiusunlly good one. All orders for vaccinntlng as well as any complaints must come thru tho Farm Bureau ofTicei Wo will, of course, continue to inspect and dlagnoso sick herds as usual. .The cost to tho farmer for vaccinating will bo tho same as that charged bv the Bureau. It was also voted at this meeting to hold a tractor demonstration, Aii?. 13th, on tho J. F. Learner farm, 5',m miles southwest of Dakotn City. Alt of tho details havo not been tlccided but plowing and other work will bo done. A largo number of tractor dealers have signified their willing ness to cntor tractors.
