election .being present the same were
canvassed, whereupon it was found
that there were 2a votes cast at said
election; that Will H. Orr
28 votes foi trustee and B. C. Buchan
an received 24 votes for trustee and
that said Will H. Orr and B. C, Bu
chanan received the. highest number
pf votes for .said office, it was there
fore moved and carried that Will H.
Orr and B. C. Buchunan be declared
duly elected.

The case against Clyde Foster,
charged with breaking anil' entering
the Farmers Exchange store at Ho
mer recently, Tvas heard in Judge S.
W. McKInley's court Tuesday, and the,
case was dismissed for lack of evi
dence to identify the goods found in
Foster's possession when nrrested.
Immediately following his dismissal
here Foster was arrested by Sheriff
Rutledge of Thurston county and tak
en to Pender to answer to a charge
of breaking and entering astore at
Walthill, Neb.

2, 1020, at the homo of his daughter,,
Mrs. S. A. Mason, three miles south
west of Dakota City, of ailments in

Mr Baker was born in Sherman,
Chautauqua county, New York, Dec
ember 22, 1835. Ho moved to Mc
Henry county, 111., in 1851, and later
moved to Delaware county, Iowa,
whore ho stayed for iv short ttnie
and in the summer of 1855, took up
his -residence at Omadi, Dakota coun
ty, Nebr., which has been his homo
