Rev Taul Boodach, a native of Per
sia and a student at Morningside, will
give an illustrated lecture in the Mcth-
dint church March 15th under the aus
pices of the Epworth League.
Clyde Crego started Sunday for
Julesburg, Col, where he intended to
work in a barber shop, but was inter
cepted at Fremont by a telegram sta
ting that the position was taken, so he
returned the next morning.
The Ladies Aid society of the1 M E
church, at their meeting last Friday
at the home of Mrs Spencer, presented
Mrs S A Bouton a handsome set of sil
er spoons, in token of their apprecia
tion ot her assistance in church work.
Fred Duensing, this week, finished
moving his household goods, etc., from
his farm to his new home in town.
Fred Krnmwiede is occupying the
Duensing farm, having moved there the
first of the week from a farm in Brushy
Bend.
Sam Bonton loaded his household
goods and shipped to Norfolk Wednes
day, where he goes to make his future
home on a farm which he recently
purchased near that place. The fam
ily expect to leave today, Friday, and
their many friends here wish them
well in their new home.

DISTRICT COURT DOINGS
The case of Margaret E Adams vs
Angust Moeller et al, which was on
trial last week when the Herald
went to preis, was finished Saturday
oveDing and given to the jury. The
jury,' after being out about three hours,
returned a sealed Vrrdict, court hav
ing adjonrucd Saturday evening until
Wednesday morning, at which time
the jury was ordered to report. The
verdict returned was in favor of the
defendants. The case was a suit for
$5,000 brought by Mrs Adams against
the Moeller saloon for selling liquor to
Albert Adams, her husband, who,
about a year ago was hurt while scuff
ling and died from the effects of his
injuries.
Upon motion of county attorney Mc
Allister the case the State vs Lvlu
Mclntyre was dismissed, the only wit
ness for the prosocttion having de
camped.
In the case of John D Foltz vs Nellie
R Foltz the defendant defaulted, and
judgment and decree ot divorce was
granted as prayed: costs taxed to the
plaintiff.
Tho case of M O Ayres vs Geo Bar
nett, a dispute over the boundary lines
to certain lands on Walker's Island
fronting on Crystal lake, was tried be
fore the court Wednesday and Thura
day. The arguments of the attorneys
will be submitted on written briefs.
and a decision will be rendered later.

Mr. Miller continued his work that
morning.
The contest that has been going on in
the courts for the past year between
Thomas Curry of this place and the
Omaha railroad was settled out of court
Mr Curry was ftchting a proceeding to
oust htm from the land on which he lives
which was nt one time owned by the
railroad company, but which they hnd
abondened. Mr Curry has lived on it for
a term of years. Under conditions of the
settlement Mr Curry remaines on the
land for n long term of years to come
and gets n money consideration besides.
The railroad retains the titic of the land
which ia valuable.
