The case institnted against the Iowa Oil Tank Line oompany for selling un inspected oil in Nebraska haa been dropped by the Nebraska state officials, arrangmeuts having been made by State Oil Inspector, A B Allen, to have the Iowa company's products whioh oome to this side of the river inspeotedin Sioux City. There was no question but what the Iowa compa ny's goods would stand Nebraska in spection, as the required grade in Iowa is higher tuan that of this state. The Linooln Journal of the 12th had the following to say of the case: "State Oil Inspector A B Allen has returned from Sioux City, lows, where he ad justed his dispute with the Iowa Oil lank Line company. He bad refused to inspect oil of this company on the Iowa side of the river which the com pany said was kej for sale on the Nebraska side ol tha boundary. He refuted to do tbis because he said he had no jurisdiction outride of the state of Nebraska. His predecessor in offioe had regularly inspected oil at Sioux City. The Iowa oompany contendel it was not financially able to put in a distributing station on the Nebraska side of the river. Mr Allen acting on the advice of Attorney General Thompson and Governor Sheldon, has consented to inspect oil in Iowa. Tanks will bo setsside by the oompany to supply its trade in Nebrasks. Mr Allen will inspect these tanks and col leot the fee for all that goes into them. Whether the oil is soldn Nebraska or Iowa, Nebraska will get the fee The Nebraska inspectors will from time to time inspect the company's oil after it is brocght into Nebraska territory as safeguard against substitution of grades of oil. The Iowa oompany will also submit a sworn statement at the end of each month showing the amount of sales in Nebraska. Mr Allen had one of the Iowa men arrested for delivering nninsprcted oil in Nebraska after he had refused to inspect on the Iowa side ofthe river, but these cases will now bit dropped. There are Iowa companies that maintain tanks in Omsha for the tiale in Iowa under similrr term to thos t agreed to by Mr Allen. The Standard Oil company is not interested in thisdisputa because it maintains distributing stations on both sides of the state bounday. A SOLEMN WARNING BY W.J.
