At the nrimarv election held on
Tuesday of last week a total of 367
votes were oast in the eounty. Of this
190 were democratio votes, 156 repub

Michael Farrell and Miss Anna Kil-
lackey. Both these yonng people are
so well known in this locality, where
they have lived for years and have
been prominent in social circles, that
they need no introduction to the Her
ald readers. Mr Farell is one of our
most promising farmers, while his
bride has tanght in the publio schools
here for several years and has endear
ed herself to the people, both young
and old. ,

pionio party Thursday of last week in
honor of Miss Helen Meeks. The
girls say they had the time of their
lives.

Smith meant by waking up the whole
town Monday night. Wasn't he

last of the week with relatives in Le

HAPPILY MABU1ED.
The most important social event in
some months, was the marriage of
Mibs Nellie Davey of Jackson, to Fred-
crick S Berry, of Emerson, Nebr, on
Wednesday of this week. The wed
ding ceremony was performed at 9:30
in the morning by Rev P F McCarthy,
in the presence of a large number of
the relatives and immediate friends of
the bride and groom. After the wed
ding, an elaborate breakfast was scrv
ed at the home of the bride's pireuts,
over one hundred attending the festiv
lties at the house. The happy pair
took the afternoon train for the east
where the honeymoon will be spent .
The bride is the daughter of Mr and
Mrs frank Davey, who are pioneer
residents of the oounty anJ among its
most respected citisens. Her entire
lifetime has been spent here, save for
occasional visits away, and here, where
she is best known, is she the most
dearly loved. Of a bright, happy,
cheerful disposition, she has ever been
a leader in her circle of friend, and
the life of gatheiings attended by her.

self to be worthy of the prize he has
drawn in the matrimonial lottery, and
the good will and good wishes of the
entire community go with the happy
yonng couple to their new home. May
they live long and be ever happy, is

friends. After November 1st Mr and
Mrs Berry will be at home in the fine
new residence Mr Berry has been fit
tiug up in Emerson.
