Margaret Boler, of Jackson, has
been assisting in the cornty treasurer's
office for the past week or two, famil
iarizing herself with the work, so that
she can relieve her sister Mary, the
regular deputy, who w ill take a couple
of week's vacation.
The six months old baby girl of'Mr
and Mrs Bernie Boals, died last Fri
day aud on Sunday was buried in the
family lot in Logan Park cemetery,
Sioux City. The friends of the fami
ly deeply sympathize with them in
their sad bereavement.

The board of county comminsiouers
met pursuant to adjournment, all
members being present. Board con
tinued their settlement with the county
treasurer.
The settlement shows that on Janu
ary 1, 1907 there was a balance on
hand of J31,8'.i7.91. The total collec
tions since January 1, 1907, are
$54,333.10. The credits as shown by
vouchers are $58,157.12, leaving a bal
ance on hand of $28,073 89.

ty Attorney Tyrrell asked what he
could do for her and she replied that

fact tho teacher has no certificate at

Following is the new library law:
"The school board or school teach
ers of every school district within this
state shall, and it is hereby made
their duty to set aside annually from
the general funds collected for the
use of the district the sum of ten cent
per pupil as shown by the total number
of pupils within the school district at
the last annual school census. Said
amennt eoet aside shall be known as
the district libiary fund, and shall be
