Last Monday J J McAllister, with
lady Member of his family, started to
drive to town. A nigb wind was
sweeping the country from the south.
and J J was smoking a pipe. Just as
he reached Roland Orr'a place west of
town, be saw smoke asoendiog . from
the lap robe in the buggy. He gained
possession of the wmp, and with smoke
and names sscending from the rear
of the buggy, foroed Gray de McAl to
take a 1 :15 spurt for Mr Orr s pump
and tank. Before Gray de McAl had
really stopped, Mr McAllister had
bundled the lady and burning robe into
the tank. No damage waa done ex
cept to the lady's eater hat aud the
lobe. Mr McAllister bad the pipe in
hia mouth when tho excitement was

pursuant to adjournment, members
present, Thomas C Baird. chairman;
Ed Morgan and Jehn Hierz and W L
Hows, county clerk.
It appearing to the board that the
petition of Maurice O'Connor for liquor
license had been duly filed according
to la w and the proper notice had been
given as required by law and that bond
as required by law bad been filed and
appioved by the board, on motion of
board license to sell malt, spirituous
and vinous Mqnors at Nacora, Nebras
ka was granted and allowed for a pe
riod of twelve months, ending May 1,
1908, and the county clerk was order
ed to issue aaid license on payment of
1500 revenue to the county treasurer.
Said license was granted on express
condition that aaid Maurice O'Cennor
should conduct Saloon and sale of li
q ior in all manner aa provided by
Chapter XXXII entitled Liquors, Com
piled Statutes of Nebraska, and on vi
olation of any of the provisions of said
act lioense shall be void. Commis
sioners reserve right to revoke lioense
for violation of law or violation of or
der and regulation of the board of
'ommissioners new in force or that
may hereafter be provided.

wiede saloon building Wednesday
morning and found the doors closed.
It wasn't long until they were hitting
the pike for Sioux City .where booze

Banker Ed T Kearney of Jackson,
remembered his patrons and friends
this year on the 23rd anuiversary of the
founding of The Bank of Dakota Uoun

tion wdl be held May 28 and 29, 1907,

State Hunday School Association will
