The cold hand of death was laid ou one who had braved the hardships of pioneer life to make a home here for himself and family. Thomas Ashford was born April 10, 1828, in Wicklow county, Ireland; died April 18. 1907. He had been in feeble health for several years past, and gradually grew weaker until death gained its victory.
