Wichita, Kans.—(By the Associated
Negro Press)—Three hundred mem
bers were added to the rolls of the
local branch of the Young Men’s
Christian Association in a drive con
ducted by B. R. De Frantz of the
New York office. He asserted that
the drive was phenomenal when the
population was considered.

ercises for the late Mrs, Margaret Mur
ray Washington, widow of Booker T. Wash
ington, were held at the Institute chapel,
on her birthday, March 9, under the aus
pices of the Tuskegee Women’s club of
which she was president

patches from Rangoon, the English
have been successful in suppressing
the slave trade in Burma and 3,487
have been released.
