the handicaps of poverty, G. W. Gore of

gality and thrift attained his ambition to
secure an education. Gore graduated from
Pearl high school with honors in 1919
and won a scholorship to DePaw t niver
sitv, Greencastle, Indiana, from which h<
graduated in 1923, Following his grad
uation he was appointed instructor in
English at the A. and L. Normal school of
this city. At the present time he is pur
suing advanced courses in English in the
summer session at Harvard and will re
turn in the fall to resume his work here.
