Botts, Pastor Two good sermons were the reward of those who came to services last Sunday. The pastor occupied the pul pit both morning and evening. In the morning he spoke on “No Shortage,” and in the evening on “The Adjust ment of Machinery.” The Sunday school was well attend ed, the collection was $11.50. The Christmas program will be rendered by the children Wednesday evening, December 23. The sick of the church include Mrs. Baum, Mrs. Ashby, Mrs. Frazier and Mrs. Martha Hodgers. Mrs. Mattie Slatter, one of the pio neers of Bethel, passed out of this life Friday, December 12, and funeral services were conducted Sunday. She was a faithful member of the B. Y. P. U„ and all members regret her loss very much. The Moaslc Lodge and Jerusalem participated. She leaves two daughters, a son and a host of grandchildren and friends to mourn her loss.
