So far The Courier has bad no returns
from ita offer to (ire a round trip ticket
to the Pacific coast to the individual
securing the largest number of subscri
bers to The Courier. Unless we hear
something from the offer in a week, we
will withdraw it.

The free social at the Presbyterian
church last night was a great success
socially. The arrangements were in the

The meeting of the city federation ci
Women's Christian associations brought
out a goodly number of ladles yesterday
afternoon. Mrs. RIckejts, president of
the federation presided. Mrs. Thomas
Sewell conducted the opening singing.
Mrs. Rickets read from the scriptures and
made appropriate comments. Mesdames
.Rachel Hyde, and K.- M. Hall led in
prayer.
Mr M. D. 'Welch was made tamrorary
secretary- - .
Mrs. L- C. Richards explained that an
effort "was being made to take the home f jr
the friendless" and Mllford home out of
the hands of the women's board and
moved that one woman bs appointed frcm
.the federation to act with a. committee
appointed by similar organizations to taks
sucn action as seemed best and confer
with the legislature. The motion car
'rled and Mrs. M. D. Welch was appointed.
Reports given by committees were very
favorable and showed the financial con
dition to be "quite good In every depart
ueat of work. The treasurer reported
a balance of $412.06 on hand. Mr. Clark
announced that (191.6! was to be found In
the treasury of the home department.
