Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Kolley are expected to arrive in Lincoln in a
few days from Cincinnati where they have been visiting- Mr. Kelly's
parents.

Many Lincoln people will remember Clarence E. Brown, formerly
of Omaha, who went to California about two years ago to become
traveling passenger agent for the Union Pacific. The Courier learns
that he has just been made district passenger agent of the Union
Pacific at Portland. '-

The Patriarchs will give a dance next Wednesday evening.
Miss Alexander of Omaha' was the guest of Mrs. S. H. Burnham
this week.
Miss Lehman, of Syracuse who has been spending a .few days in
the city returned to her home Monday. .
A. J. Cornish is in Sioux City.
Mrs. J. Morrill and Frank Morrill have gone to Colorado Springs.
M. E. Turrel left Monday for Celeste, Texas.
Miss Rachael Brock is visiting Miss Katharine Barker in Omaha.
Mrs. Edward Baum, of Omaha, was in the city this week.
Miss Mao Burr spent Wednesday in Omaha.
The ladies of the Matinee Musicale met at the Curtice music hall
on Monday last and listened to a finely rendered program as follows:

The biographical sketches by Miss Stoddard were comprehensive
and bright and the musical numbers were highly creditable. Mrs.
Raymond will commence her chorus work at the next meeting which
will be November I9th. The afternoon will be devoted to a Hayden
program.

Miss Adeline Shelden, of Nebraska City, who was the guest in
this city of Miss Henrietta Hawley, returned to her home Wednesday.
Ports Wilson left Monday for Goodland, Ind., where he was called
by a telegram announcing the sudden death of his brother.
Ned Keating, of Chicago, was in the city Wednesday.
.Misses Quick, of Des Moines, Ja., Mame Carson, Messrs. Will
Clark and Howe occupied a box at "Friends" Monday evening.
Dan Baum and Ward Ciarko, of Omahu, Bpent Sunday with
Frank Hooper.

John Dorgan has returned from a week's hunt in the western part

On Tuesday Miss Katharine Barker entertained at cards in honor
of her guest, Miss Brock, of Lincoln, and of the Misses Welch of
St. Paul.
Miss Pugsley of Chicago is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. S.S.Curtiss.
Lieut. Hines, Lieut. Powell and Lieut. Bookmiller will leave on
Monday for Kloomington, Ills., to attend the wedding of Lieutenant
Prince to Miss Rinehart. Lieut, and Mrs. Prince will be at home on
Mondays after December 14th at Fort Omaha.
Mrs. Wilhelm spent a few days of this week at Lincoln.
Mrs. Baum has returned from a short visit to Lincoin.
Mrs. Herbert of New York is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Lemist.
Mrs. Joseph Garneau, Miss Nash and Mr. Pierre Garneau went to
St. Louis this week to attend the marriage of Miss Garneau to Mr.
Weld, which will take place on Wednesday.
Miss Doak of Nashville, Tenn., is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. John
L. Webster.
Last Saturday evening Major and Mrs. Worth entertained at din
ner, Dr. and Mrs. Tilton, Miss Tilton, Miss Balcombe and Mr. Seay.
The Misses Nash aro contemplating a visit to San Antonio.
The Debutante Cooking club gavu a cotillon on Wednesday even
ing at the residence of Miss Webster in honor of Miss Jentio Yates.
The favors were unique and dainty in the extreme, the one that at
tracted the greatest attention being diminutive hand painted cook
books containing a receipe from every member of tho club. The
german was led by Mrs. Augustus Kountze, and those who danced
were: Misses. Webster, Dandy, Doak, Burns, the Misses Nash, the
Misses Yates, McKenna, Helen Smith, Colpetzer, Cady, Palmer,
Brown, Kountze; Messrs. Dean, Crofoot, George Mercer, Captain
Crowder, Wells, McArthur, Hines, Penn, Baldridge, Lyman, CudaLy,
John Patrick, Garneau, Battin, Palmer.
