J)ave Hum, the midget jockey of . the Charlie B. Irwin stable, and Jockey W. Marnier, piloted two win. neri home yesterday during the ninth day's race program of the Ak Sar-Ben meeting. Hum rode Don Joie pan the judge' itand win ner in the sixth race and then re- i peated with Regreso in the aeventh and final event of the afternoon. while Manderi won with Phrone Ward in the third and Rota Atkm ' in the fifth race. , ;i The seven races on yesterday a ( program were of the mediocre var i iety. The track wa heavy and in three of the seven events, the favor- ites galloped home winners. Don ! Jose, captured the sixth race at five " and one-half furlonus and rewarded ' his handful of backers with $28.40 on straight S2 tickets. Don paid 1 57.90 to place and show ducats on this steed were turned in ' at the . window for $4.60. ; Fegreso Wins Third Race. , Regreso, Charlie Irwin's chestnut gelding of eight summers, managed , to get home an easy winner, in the ' seventh race over a mile route. The son of Hastings rline, -with Dave ' Hum in the saddle, went to the front, ..passing the half globe and won as he ' pleased, three lengths in front of ; Christie Holters.- The latter was 'the paddock's choice and ran a good lace from the holf pole. ; Balfour got away in fourth posi tion and they dropped back in sixth place at the quarter, but entering the stretch made up plenty of ground and outgamed John R.
