Think Co-Operative Needed.
"The trouble all alonir the. line U
to urge greater production, without
making certain that there will be
a market. lTn to the firt of thi
year the -farmers had a marketing
aociation of their own. -which was
doing a big business. If it had not
, been for cut-throat competition it
would be running today, and would
have relieved the low price situation,
at least in the Omaha territory. W'c
believe that the lack of co-operative
milk marketing association is one
thing that menaces the Nebraska
' dairy industry. I believe more, or
at least as much, ran be accomplish
ed by attending the meeting at Mil
lard as by going to Lincoln."

Fremont to Have
Corn-Alfalfa Mill
I1VE. Frcdrickgeii to Start In-
dustry He Says Will Bene
fit Farmers.
H. F. Fredrickscn. former Omaha
automobile man, has arranged to
build and operate a corn-alfalfa mil
ling plant at Fremont. He is in
Omaha to buy machinery for the Al
falfa Corn ProdtfVts Manufacturing
company. The mill will have a ca
pacity f 20.000 tons annually.
Mr. Fredricksen was a pioneer of
the bicycle and automobile business.
He was in the former in Fremont in
the early 90s. He came to Omaha
in 1897 and engaged in the same
business, later becoming one of the
first automobile dealers. He amassed
a fortune in this and sold out in
1915. He went to South America to
develop a gold mine, and on his re
turn became president of the Hawk-
eye Truck company, Sioux City.
A mill such as I shall build will
enable the farmers to make a profit
on the byproducts of their crop, the
cornstalks, which will be ground up
by this special machinery and mixed
with other things to make a nutri
tious ration, said. ' Such a plant
will be ablefothrive on one-tenth of
the corn crop raised within seven
miles of Fremont and to bring in
creased prosperity to the farmers and
to those who use the product of the
mill. In short it will make wealth
out of something that is now wasted."
