This was the announce ment today of Street Superintendent Hezckiah Russell. The plan, which was first tried out in Akron last winter, has proven so successful that. it is being used in other cities, Russell says. Streets slated for regular salting are Glendale avenue, North Howard street, Kelly avenue, Cook street, High street and viaduct, bhernondy hill, Perkins hill, Mill street viaduct, Tallmadge avenue, Furnace street, Cuyahoga street, east and west Mar ket streets, Cherry and Summit streets. "In addition to the salt squad our shovel, broom and plow gangs are organized and ready to clear the streets and crossings of snow the minute it falls," Russell said. Farmers Near Dallas Are Burning Corn for Fuel Anton Sundquist of Dallas, S. D., who was a visitor to the Omaha market with a couple of carloads fi cattle, said farmers in his section were all burning corn in place of coal because corn is bringing only 18 cents a bushel, while the cheapest grade of soft coal costs $15 a ton.
