The addren of Tuesday evening will be given by Dr. Georae E. Martin, president State Teachera' College, Kearney. Mra. John Slaker, Mate preiident will call the aetaion to order, and respond to addresses, of welcome on behalf of the hosteta club., by Mr. S. C. Stoner; on be half of fourth district, Miss Eflie Detrick. and for the city, by Mayor t, 1. Joern. Music for the evening will be given by the Seward Treble Clef club, J. A. Tarks director, Miss Pansy Cooper, an organ prelude, and community tinging led by Mrs. E. S. Luce of Lincoln. Kev. L. F. Townsend will pronounce the in vocation. A, reception at the Cham ber of Commerce will follow the evening meeting. Wednesday Morning. , The Wednesday morning session will be devoted to business. .Special committees will report through their chairmen, Mrs. R. D. Mortiz, cre dentials; Mrs. M. D. Cameron, pro gram; Mrs. U. H. Franklin, badges; Mrs. George R. Chatburu, rules and regulations; Mrs. S. C. Stoner, local arrangements. Officers reporting, will be Mrs. E. B. Penney, vice president; Mrs. S. M. Dewey, recording secretary; Mrs. Paul Perryman, corresponding secretary; Mrs. W. Welch, treasurer, Mrs. O'Linn Smith, auditor. Standing committee reports will be given by Mrs. Max Hostetler, Mrs. F. A. Long, Mrs. T. J. Gist and Miss Annie Miller. Affiliated or ganizations will give greetings: Mrs. Lulu Hudson for the Nebraska Home Economics Association; Lulu Ab bott for the state nurses and Mrs. J. E. Wallace for the Omaha Asso ciation of Collegiate Alumnae. Mrs. H. L. Kecfe will report on revision of the constitution. Wednesday Afternoon. Wednesday afternoon will be a general federation session with Mrs. Rose V. S. Berry of Berkeley, Cal., general federation chairman of art, as the principal speaker. Mrs. Addi son E. Sheldon, general federation for Nebraska, and Mrs. Cyrus Ma son, vice chairman of the press and publicity committee of the general federation, will also appear. The nominating committee made up' of presidents of clubs having member ship in the state federation, will meet following the afternoon session. Wednesday Evening. Dr. George E. Condra will be one of the principal speakers of Wednes day evening. His address on "Ne braska the Beautiful" will be illus trated by stereopticon. Mrs. E. B. Penney will report on the new state seal. Miss Katherine Worley, chair man of the state board of control, will give an address on "Nebraska Institutions." Mrs. Vera Luke, the Treble Clef club of Seward, and Prof. J. A. Parks will give musical numbers. The nominating commit ter will submit its report that ctening. Thursday Morning. A pub lic welfare forum will be held at 2 that afternoon at the Methodist , church, and an American citizenship forum at the Presbyterian church. Miss Effie Detrick will preside at the former when Mrs. Louise Thompson, Mrs. A. H. Brooke and Mrs. John R. Hughes will speak. At the American citizenship forum Mrs. C. A. Millar will preside; Miss Katherine Worley. Mrs. B. C. Mendell, Mrs. J. W. Babcock and Mrs. H. H. Wheeler will speak, Thursday Evening. "Industrial Nebraska" is the sub ject for Thursday evening. Miss Alice Loomis, state supervisor of home economics, and L. A. Hartley, state supervisor of trades and indus tries, will be the speakers. Mrs. John R. Hughes will present lyrics and Carl Rosenlof will sing. Friday Morning's Report . Final reports of committees will be given Friday morning, including that of Mrs. H. E. Goodrich on thrift and Miss Katherine Worley on Americanization. The district presidents will appear at this time, Mesdames S. P. Cresap, L. M. Lord, C. A. Millar, Effie Detrick, A. J. Jenison and George Frater. Mrs. W. L. Morrill will report for the state fair committee, Miss Winifred Hyde for the University Co-Operative bureau,-Mrs. W. P. Heath for elections committee and Mrs. W. E. Minier with business resolutions. Friday Afternoon. The afternoon will be given over to a rural club conference, Mrs. A. J. Jenison presiding; applied education forum, Mrs. George Frater, presi dent; legislation torum, Mrs. a. tr. Cresap presiding, and a fine arts forum with Mrs. L. M. Lord m the chair. Speakers at the education forum will include Mrs. J. H. Cor- rick, Miss Hattie Summers, Mrs. Harry Lindsay and Miss Alice Loomis. At the legislation forum will appear Mrs. H. M. Bushnelt and Mrs. F. H. Cole, while Mrs. E. S. Luce, Mrs. E. E. Welch, Mrs. - Anna R. Morey and Maurice Blook, director of Omaha Society of Fine Candidate Mrs. Edgar B. Penney of Fuller ton is the woman most prominently mentioned for the presidency of the Nebraska Federation of Women's Clubs. Election will occur at Seward this week when the state convention is in session, bo tar no opposition to Mrs. Penney has ap peared. Mrs. Penney is vice president at present. She has been district Arts, will speak at the fine arts forum. Friday Evening. "Nebraska in the Fine Arts" will be the subject of Friday, the closing evening. John G. Neihart, will give an author s recital and Miss Alice Howell of the University of Ne braska will speak on "Noted Ne braskans in the Art World." Music numbers will be given by Prof. Paul Reuter, William S. Larson and Louise Ormsby Thompson. Adjournment will follow installa tion of new officers. Clubdom Duchesne College Notes. Reservations for the luncheon to be eiven in connection with the bazar at Duchesne college and Convent of the Sacred Heart Saturday, No vember 19, may be made with Mrs. W. J. Mrs. Ida Kruse McFarlane, dean of English, University of Denver will give the second of a series of lectures on New Fiction and Drama Saturday, 2 p. m., at the First Pres byterian church, Thirty-first and Farnam street; The subject of this talk will be "Realistic Fiction," (Growth of the Soil-Hamsun. The Power of the Lie-Bojer.) Owing to Willa Gather's lecture at 4 p. m. on Saturday the hour of Mrs. McFarlane's talk has been changed from 3 until 2. Music Department The Omaha Womens club chorus meets Wednesday at 2 p. m., at Y. W. C A. Any woman in the city may join this chorus, either through the Woman's club or as an associate department member. The first department program will be given November 9. The chorus will sing and a miscellaneous pro gram will be given. These programs are open to the public and will be given at the Y. W. C A. auditorium every second Wednesday of the month, Miller Park Mothers' Circle. Miss Lutie Stearns .of Milwaukee will address the Miller Park Moth ers' circle on "The World's Greatest Need and Sources of Power" at the Alamito dairy Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Members will be conveyed from the Miller Park school to the dairy in automobile busses at 1 p. m. Business Woman's Club Banquet The annual banquet of the Omaha Business Woman's club will be held Tuesday evening, 6:30 o'clock, at the Y. W. C A. Miss Emma Sasstrom will be the toastmistress. Reservations may be made at the office of the Y. W. C A. before 8:30 p. m., Monday. for President president and state chairman of literature. She is a member of the D. A. R. society and has been Ne braska .correspondent for the na tional D. A. R. magazine. At York college she was a member of Alpha chapter, Pi Beta Phi sorority. Mrs. Penney was a visitor in Oma ha a week ago when she attended a luncheon given by the Association of Collegiate Alumnae. Christ Child Society. The Christ Child Athletic club boot ball team will nlay the Tenth Street Merchants at Riverview park Sunday morning. 1 he team will play the Scribner eleven at Scribner Sun day, October 30. The Keeline club held its regular meeting Friday evening. Election of officers will be held next week. Help One Another club, composed of girls from 8 to 12 years, will meet Monday afternoon to make caps and decorations for the Hallowe'en party which they will give on Saturday, October 29. Miss Sara Shanley, head resident at the Center, returned Tuesday from her vacation, which was spent in New York. Fifty children's books,, donations from Mrs. Louis Nash and Mrs. C. W. Morey of Hastings Is a week-end guest in Omaha at the home of Mrs. R. M. Trrrill. Mrs. Morey is the new president of the Hastings Woman's club. She has erved the General Federation of Clubs as art chairman and is at pres ent chairman of slides and pottery. She came to Omaha to visit the Ne braska artists' exhibit at the public library and arrange for a small col lection of pictures by Nrbraskans to be shown at Seward during the state club convention this week. Willa Cather was a guest of Mrs. Morey and a speaker at the opening meeting of the Hastings Woman's club October 14. Mrs. John Slaker, state resident of federated clubs, also addressed the meeting. Miss Cather appealed to club wo men to plant and cultivate the poplar and osage orange trees. These trees were planted and carefully nourished bv the pioneers, she said, but today are neglected and destroyed. To cul tivate them for their beauty was her message. Miss Cather will speak in Omaha October 29 under Fine Arts society auspices. Girls Community Service League The Girls Community Service league is now located in its new quarters in room 210, Gardner build ing, 1712 Dodge street. Mrs. Mary Lydia Rowe will be hostess during the season.
