FIELD DAY WITH SLIPPING KAVS Jackson's Men Pound Pill in Pinches and Earn 15 to 4 Victory Over Nee's Topeks. Bill Jackson came back yesterday. So did his athletes. The score was, Omaha IS, Topeka 4. Very sweet, very sweet. Whatever the Rourkes overlooked in touching up the Neekaws, or what ever it is they call them until Mon day when they become the Packers of Hutchinson, Topeka having died a natural death, would best re main unsaid. For those Rourkes did some terrible things to the Neekaws. Also the Neekaws did some terrible things themselves. Hit in Pinches. The real story of the game lies in the fact that the Rourkes hit in the pinches. There were three glar ing instances. In the opening stanza, three Rourkes manned the runway. Defate was at bat. He smote a Denver double to right and two men scored and the third man went to third. Again in the second it happened. Three men again were on the bags. This time Charlie Hanford was at bat His job was thorough. He cracked a triple to deep center and three men counted. Two Tricks In Fifth. Donici and Defate turned two tricks in the fifth. With two men on base, Donica rapped out a double and Tony Defate followed with the same stunt. Donica s double scored two, as did Defate's. You can't beat that kind of hitting. Neither could the Topeks. It was a cinch. In fact it was such a cinch that Bill Jackson sent into the game two new recruits, Catcher McMenemy and Pitcher Thompson, both of whom' arrived on the scene yesterday. Hurls Steady Ball. Charlie Kopp pitched steady ball, kept the hits well scattered and was never in danger. Omaha won in a walk. Today the Neekaws will attempt to evbtain their revenge. A double header is on the boards today; The first game will start at 2 o'clock sharp. Hutchinson Wins Loo e Game From Sioux City by 9 to 7 SlOUX CitV. Is . Chicago, June 1. A triple play by New York and bunched hits by the visitors gave them the first game of their western invasion from Chi cago today, 6 to 3. Baker started the play which wrecked Chicago's hopes. The bases were filled, two men had scored and none was out. Thormahlen had been replaced on the mound by A. Russell. On a hit and run, Gandil drove the ball on a line toward left. Baker ran over and speared it with his gloved hand, then threw to Pratt, doubling Felsch.
