opened its series in Cleveland by hit
ting three Cleveland pitchers ' hard
and winning, 8 to 4.
After Williams ,had held. Cleveland
to three hits in six innings he lost
control and passed the first three
men up in the seventh. Qanforth re
lieved him and passed Chapman.
Speaker singled and Dinforth gave
way to Cicotte, who allowed one more
to score on a sacrifice fly.
A double play by Speaker was the
feature of the contest. With Collins
on second and Jackson on first, Speak
er trapped Felsh't fly and tagged Col
lins, then touching second, forcing
Jackson, thns repeating play; he

Games on Newark Grounds

and American leagues will be played
every Sunday hereafter at the former
Newark Federal league grounds at
Harrison, N. J., it was announced to
day. A weekly game scheduled at the
Polo grounds, New York, or at Eb
bets' field, Brooklyn, wjll be trans
ferred to the Harrison park ech Sun

sary so that the major leagues could
get back some of the money they must
pay for rental of the park under the
terms of the Federal league peace
