of cattle showed up today, 4,600 head, but
the four days' supply, 31,500 head, falls
a few hundred short of a week ago. Com
pared with a year aso. however. thcr. k.a

Hog A liberal run of hogs was yarded
today, and the early market opened with
sales to packers and shipper on a basla of
teady to 10c loeer. Packers showed an
early perference for light and medium
weights and heavy packing hogs were low
sellers all during tho early trade. Shipper
filled only fair orders today, buying the
light and medium weight cla Bulk of
the sales ranged from $16,65 to $17.00, with
the top for choice lights of $17.20. The
market was generally stow.
Sheep The market opened slow this
morning at prices quotably steady to strong
er. Among the early sales was single deck
of Mexican lambs averaging about 77 pounds

The early activity, which gained some

first gain. Steels fulled to keep pace with
the general advance, however, and rails,
except coalers, were extremely dull. Toward
noon buying was resumed on a moderat
scale, Marines, oils snd Ameriosn Car lead

The cash corn market was an extremelr
quiet affair during the entire morning,
sellers generally asking more than buyer

Band on War Loan Tour
