Cattle A moderate run of cattle showed
up today, about $.5(0 head, but the three
days" receipts, 26,860 head, have been 3,000
heavier than a week ago, and $.000 heavier
than a year ago. With no Improvement tn
the ear sltustion, and rather discouraging
reports from outside markets, the trsde tn
fat cattle was rathrr dull, with prices not
materially different from Tuesday. In cows
and heifers there was perhaps s little more
activity, but In the main both beef steers
and butcher stock are slow snd lrrefular
sellers st prices anywhere from 35c to 40
lower for the week. Business In stockers and
feeders was very utet as fresh suppllea
were limited, snd the country demand light
owing to the difficulty in securing stock
cars. Best feeders are not so much lower

Hogs Receipts of hogs todsy were fairly
liberal and the market opened with ship
pers buying hogs st prices that were all
the way from 15 0 26c higher than the close
yesterday. Paokera were rather slow In
getting down to business, but toward mid
forenoon commenced buying at about he
same prlcea as shippers. The best price
paid was $16.75, an advance ef 26o over
yesterday, while the built of the offerings
moved at $16.80016.66. Trade was fairly
active and offerings moved readily, but
little, being left around 11 o'clock,

western points had only moderate runa.
Opening trade was rather slow, arrivals
being delayed In getting to the barn. The
undertone, however, was strong, and but

Seed Com Embargo Will
Be Canceled March 15

seed corn surveys made irr Nebraska
and reported to the State Council of
Defense and agricultural college show
that farmers who have not already
obtained their seed corn for this
year's planting should do so as quick
ly as possible.
Some of the counties report, a sur
plus and others that they will have
to depend largely upon outside sup
plies.. To make possible the supply
inn of all these needs and at the
same time to provide as large a sur-4
plus as possiDie tor use in states
which are looking to Nebraska for
seed corn is a duty of great im
portance. .
To prevent shipping away seed corn
from counties where it is needed for
