Cattle There was tho.usuul very moderate
Friday's run of cattle about 2,100 head, and
receipts so far this week l.vs been about
1,400 smaller than a wscU ago. Trado was
fairly active and prices fully steady 1 1 the
ad vanes of the first half of the week, which
means that fat cattle are now selling any
where from 60c to 76c, higher than they were
a week ago. The same holds true as to
cows and heifers, anything at all desirable
in the way of beef steers or butcher stock
being in broad demand and strong. Outlet
for stocker and feeders was also broad, and
the nioderato offerings moved freely at
strong figures, fully 60o higher for the week.

At first the corn market had an upward :
bend, Influenced by the fact that sellers '
were scarce and thnt arrivals here showed
a falling off as compared with the two ,
previous days. Besides, scarcity of choice ;
grades continued and cold weather sc,omed .
likely in some degree to hinder the .crop
movement. The market, however, promptly
eased off after the Issuance of .Instructions ..;
that grain enrs emptied here, must not be'",
re-loaded for shipment east but must be t,
returned to western lines in order to" bring ...
