The suppressing of grain speculation In
Canada 'and unfavorable weather in the
spring crop region lifted prices as much as,
t cents above Saturday's finish. The ap
parent ceiafatton-of foreign demand, proba
bility ot the government fixing: prices and
word that two cargoes of Canadian wheat
having been obtained to come by way of
the Great Lakes to Chicago millers at ad--vantageoua

Corn and oats followed wheat and trade
was meager except that foreign govern

Cash wheat soared to new high levels to
day and scored an advance of 3c to 6o over
the average price of Saturday.
The trade In this cereal was, during the
early part ot the session, ft trlfln slow on
account of the Inability of the traders to
agrit on price, but, the demand wa. good,
and shortly before the close the sellers be
gan to let go pretly fresly and a good part
of the offerings were disposed of. The
$3.00 mark waa reached when a car of No.
3 spring wheat sold for that price, but the
bulk of the offerings sold a few cents bo
low $8.00. No. 2 ha d bringing around $2 .96
01.98, while the bulk of No. 1 hard sold
at 13.93.
The receipts of corn and oals over the
holiday were rather heavy, but as the de
mand for these cereals was excellent the
traders had little difficulty In getting rid
of their offerings, the sales, however, being
mado at' a alight decline.
The wide premium on white corn waa
still in evidence and prlrea on thla variety
were quoted almost 10c In advance of Ihu
yellow and mined grades.
The range on whit- corn waa from $1,600
1.61 "4. the better grade of yellow sold
around $1.61A01.6t4 and mlied corn sold
generally from $1.6OH0L62, although a
few can of high color mixed corn brought
from $1.6401.66.
Oats prices gem rally ware about Ho
lower, slandard oata being quoted at Tic,
while No. 1 white brought 10o and a
