Thii was an nounced by Chairman Charley Saund ers at the organization luncheon of the committee at the 1'axton hotel at noon. Forty-one members were present, all insistent that they are full of gin ger and champing the bit to be up and at the prospective members. (..hatrman Saunders pointed out that the circumstances which make it im possible to conduct the little "oasis" out at the den this year would not, in his estimation, make the difference of one member this year. "The hoys will soon learn to adapt themselves lo the new condition," he said. Frank W. Judson, last year's chair man, again promised the boys he would take them to the ball game as soon as they had obtain the first 2,000 members. "Doc" Frye said if there were to he as many as fifteen hustling teams he would guarantee his quota of the 2,000 members before the opening game ot league ball in Umaha. J. M. Hogan made a short booster talk, holding also that absence of the "oasis" this year should make no dif ference in the number ot members secured, and giving a little talk on the art of persuasion. Charley Black, fresh from the fes tivities of the Mardi Gras in New Orleans, told the boys of the work down there. He said that the Mardi Gras is now eighty-five years old and this year had the biggest crowds it ever had. "There is, then, no ques tion as to how long Ak-Sar-Ben is going to live," he said. "We are not so old, and on a basis of the present life of Mardi Gras, we have some sixty-five years still ahead of us, at least." Admiral Lacasse is Appointed War Minister London, March 15.
